Conch shells are used to carve cameos in Italy. The ring is dates between 1910 1940s, it most probably 1920s due to the ring setting. Cameo jewellery became very popular in the early 19th century cameos features Roman women. Victorian women on the Grand Tour brought home these pieces from places such as Italy and Greece.
